A prolific western writer, Elmer Kelton was born on April 29, 1926 at Horse Camp, east of Andrews, Texas. He wrote numerous western novels including The Good Ole Boys, Honor at Daybreak, and Man Who Rode Midnight. In addition to his western novels, Kelton wrote numerous articles for The Farmer-Stockman since 1964.
